At Camping Europa, 28 mobile units on wheels create private patios and layered gardens, merging hotellerie-style exclusivity with natural openness. Minimal structures frame an evolving landscape.
The Pergola sector at Camping Europa in Cavallino–Treporti, Venice, arranges 28 mobile wooden units of 40 square meters each to optimise privacy and exclusivity. Each unit forms a patio of equal size, screened from the next, while the visible wheels and underfloor voids are defined by ephemeral nets supporting growing vegetation. Small pergolas, mounted among existing trees and covered with reed mats, shade the patios. The terrain was graded to mediate between the units and the camp level, creating paths, flower beds, and permeable surfaces. The garden undulates continuously, revealing the ground beneath the pergolas. While the sector follows a strict, logical layout, the planting of cushions of vegetation along the units softens the geometry, blending order with a naturalised landscape and ensuring each patio feels both private and connected to the larger garden.
