In Sesto Fiorentino, a hemp emporium transforms retail into a spatial experience. Simple materials and mobile elements create a flexible, naturalized environment celebrating the plant’s versatility.
The store is a smooth, uncluttered room defined by a rear wall with the signage, accommodating storage, a bathroom, and a large display. Three movable objects activate the space: a plissé birch plywood cabinet (cannabis bank), a backless yoga-cushion seat, and a triangular rusted tubular plant display. Two glazed façades open to a garden, while the other two sides are opaque screens. Supporting columns are highlighted, emphasizing the spatial structure. The graphic identity revolves around the almond-shaped seed (vesica piscis), visible in the back panel, technical blocks for lighting and conditioning, and graphics on a suspended screen. Materials are simple and natural: oxidized iron, light birch and mahogany, paper, and pigmented concrete. The design prioritizes interaction, gathering, and contemplation, making the emporium an environment for experiencing hemp rather than a traditional point of sale.
