For Ferrara’s Circular Economy Festival, modular furniture becomes a living system: assembled, disassembled, and reused, embodying circularity in form and function.
The festival setup was based on a simple module: one high seat and one low seat. Modules were self-built onsite during a workshop using basic tools and jigs. They were combined to create 10 exhibitor stands under a wooden frame and recycled fabric canopy. After the festival, the modules remained at Factory Grisù, Ferrara, as circular furniture, ready to be reassembled for new events. This approach avoids waste typical of temporary installations: every component can be quickly dismantled, stored, and reused. The system continuously adapts to changing spatial needs, making the setup both functional and a demonstration of circular design principles in practice.
